This project began on one serendipitous laundry day in 2018, as an effort to unplug, get out from behind my screen and get back to my hands. I found a book on Scenic America in the rotating library at a trailer park laundromat. Inspired by the 70’s photo quality of the images and the vast subject matter, from Flint Hills to the Everglades, I started drawing tiny scenes, and fondly dubbed this series the “Laundry Day Landscapes”. Beautiful moments are out there, just waiting for us to pay attention.
You can find me drawing in my studio in the sticks of Texas, neglecting my house plants, or washing my laundry at home (upgrade!).
